How is the LL.M. structured?

The LL.M. is structured in two modules, the first is characterized by distance learning and the second involves active participation at the UNICRI Campus in Turin. In particular, the first module permits participants to work through an electronic platform from their countries of origin and to reach a preliminary and uniform level of understanding. The second module consists of lectures, seminars and practical exercises, including mock trials, simulations and seminars organized in cooperation with international organizations, research institutes and other agencies of the United Nations.
Classes are taught by experts from internationally recognized academic institutions, as well as professionals from the United Nations System and international courts. In this context, lecturers provide students with a real-time analysis of the activities conducted by the various international criminal courts: international criminal tribunals, the International Criminal Court and special courts.
Within the structure of the LL.M. UNICRI, in conjunction with the International Criminal Court, organizes a seminar for students on International Criminal Law Defence. The seminar is considered as an integral part of the course (required for students) and opened to the public. It provides for the integration of theoretical lectures to practical exercises on the defence in international criminal matters, on legal defence strategies and the use of testimonials.

The on-campus lectures run daily from Monday through Friday, with compulsory attendance.

Expect to pay between € 300 up to € 700 per month depending on the type of accommodation you choose (i.e. shared flat, single room, double room, studio, etc.) and on the area of the city in which it is located.

Students may also choose to live on the UN Campus in ITCILO accommodations. The cost is 85€ per night for a single room and 120€ per night for a double room.
