University of Turin Matriculation Requirements

For ALL students holding degrees not issued by Italian Universities

In order to obtain the LL.M. degree, all selected applicants holding degrees not issued by Italian universities are required to provide a Declaration of Value, (Dichiarazione di Valore in loco, DOV) of the university degree required for admission to the LL.M. (a minimum 3-year university degree). Competent Italian Diplomatic Authorities located in the country where the university awarding the degree is located are responsible for the issuance of the DOV and will be in a position to provide applicants with additional information on the procedure to be followed.

The DOV, together with a legalized/notarized/certified copy of the degree and of related study plans/transcripts (hereinafter attachments) translated into Italian and asseverated by competent Italian Diplomatic Authorities remain a prerequisite for enrolment at any Italian university.

Selected applicants, who have paid the fees but do not produce the DOV and related attachments by the beginning of the on-campus module, will not be entitled to obtain the LL.M. official degree issued by the University of Turin at the end of July 2013.

The issuance of the DOV can be rather lengthy (up to six months) particularly, but not only in countries like Nigeria, Cameroon, and Germany. Furthermore, some countries require the DOV prior to the issuance of the required Study Visa. All candidates, particularly those requiring a Visa to enter Italy, are therefore advised to apply for the DOV right at the time of submitting their LL.M. application and to not wait until the completion of the selection process. We therefore advise you to consult the Study Visa and DOV requirements for your country and to enquire and apply in time for the various pertinent procedures.

In case of delays in the DOV or Visa process, the concerned candidate is responsible for maintaining contact with the competent Italian Diplomatic Authorities and updating the LL.M. Administrative Office as regards the progress or status of his/her DOV.

A copy of the DOV and the related attachments (or a copy of receipt of request of DOV from the competent Italian Diplomatic Authorities) must be sent by email to the LL.M. Administrative Office (llm@unicri.it) by 7 October 2012. Please DO NOT DETACH any of the documents forming the DOV and the attachments or remove any staples. Should you scan the documents, simply fold them over.

To participate in the LL.M., candidates who have not yet obtained the above-mentioned documents (i.e. DOV and legalized translations of study plans/transcripts into Italian), need to retain a receipt or signed letter from the competent Italian Diplomatic Authorities as evidence that they have properly requested for the DOV. This receipt must be scanned and emailed to the LL.M. Administrative Office by 7 October 2012.
